This is a group of Chinese friends. They may be in their native country or live close to us in San jose.
In Beijing China we have a very special person, my China daughter, called Ning Ning. I had met her in 1986 when I was in China on a tour with a Square Dancing group. This begins another long story but basically
Michiko and I visited China later and while we were visiting Ning Ning Michiko got pregnant with Daniel. Then when Ning Ning was in Canada, with her husbands work, we visited them there and at that time Michiko found out she was pregnant with Mariko.
So we have close connection with Ning Ning - she is kind of a god parent to the two kids.
Her husband works for the Consulate service in China. Because of that he is assigned to different places all over the world. As I said above he was assigned to Toronto Canada and we were able to visit them about three times while they were there. Ning Ning works for the China Travel Agency in the English department in Beijing.
If you are in Beijing and need help - see her (Yu, Ning Ning). She is the worse about writing and I made a contact with her the other day through an Internet contact in Beijing. He contacted her and told her to write me - no letter yet. Hoping she will get a computer and a connection to the Internet. I have talked to her a couple of times in the past tow months.
If you come to San Jose area and are looking at real estate, she is the one to see.
I had met Julie on the same trip I met Ning Ning. Later she decided that she wanted to come to the U.S. to live. First she got a job with a local travel agency who specialized in trips to China. She had been
with the China International Travel Agency in China so she knew a lot about China which was valuable to the local travel agency. Later her husband was able to come and he got a job in the electronics industry as an engineer. Still later they brought
their son to the U.S. Now the family is all together here and enjoying their life in their new country.
Julie is programming for a local software company, her husband is still working as an engineer and the son is doing very well in an American high school. They all are doing very well since they came to this country. It is the promised land for them.
