What are we made from and the 1000 cubed theory.

Why is it that our society will not accept the fact that some children are smarter then others. All children do not have the same ability, even in the same family. Why is it that most parents of "less intelligent" children think that their school is at fault. That their school is not equal to the school across town.

Why is it that people will not accept that, in some areas, the children are inherently smarter and may have a better chance of excelling in life. Their parents are smarter, their grandparents are smarter, etc., etc., etc. That intelligence is not totally a learned experience

Why is it that we accept the fact that we can breed animals to be a certain size, a certain intelligence, a certain behavior, a certain personality. We can accept the fact that certain disease can he handed down through the genes and yet not accept the fact that any part of intelligence might also be handed down through the genes.

Why can we not accept that certain groups of people have a higher drive to succeed and a higher intelligence, that certain groups of people have a lower basic intelligence, a different morality, a different drive in life.

Why can we not accept that dumb breeds dumb, smart breeds smart and that the genes hand down the dumb or smart of the parents and of that group.

Over the years I have come up with a theory that all of us are born with the best set of genes that we are handed by our parents, grandparents and by the group that we may belong to. I call my theory 1000². I think that we are born with ability in a 1000 different abilities (and of course many more then this). Each ability has a 1000 levels of achievement. And let us assume that a level of 500 would be the average in all achievements between all people. That whatever level of each persons ability we are born with is the maximum we can obtain. From that point all negative life's experience only will tear that down. Now if we have some good experiences in those skills they can be built up to the maximum that we were born with BUT NEVER HIGHER.

For example we have a piano player. This piano player has been born with a level of 900 which may be the upper 2% of all piano players. As the small child grows and wants to take piano lessons the parents will not give them a chance. Or maybe the parents put the child in piano lessons and there is not real support at home. Now the level of excelling at playing the piano may be at 800. Next they get a piano teacher who does not know how to develop the talent and it drops to 700.

Along comes a piano teacher who has the skills to develop this child. The teacher also has the ability to show the parents the skill that the child has. Now this teacher starts lessons and everything good happens. We now find that over time the lever is built up to the 900 level again - but it can not go higher. Although this student is at the top of the piano playing society but does not have the ability to be a concert pianist. To be a concert pianist a piano player must have a level of 975 and the subject pianists will never achieve that. But the child (or adult) can make a good living out of this ability.

Of course many of these 1000 abilities interact with each other in both good or bad ways and the level can go up or down accordingly.

What I am saying is that every person has 1000². That this is based on those genes that have been handed down through the family and the group because of the inbreeding in the group. These abilities can be physical and we certainly see groups of people who have certain higher physical skills then others. These can be mental for we see that mental disability can be handed down, These can be intelligence in many or a few fields. These abilities would be far over 1000 because it is every part of a persons makeup. Then when you add another 1000 ways in which all of the things interact you can see why I call it my "My 1000 cubed theory".

Now lets develop a school system that can give all of our people a basic level of the three R's and what ever else we need in our basic lesson. Now lets take all of this basic learning skills and teach them in the first 11 grades of school (K-10). Lets increase school hours or whatever else is necessary to bring all children to the best level that they each can achieve by the time they get through the 10th grade. Now in the last two years of high school lets concentrate on what each child abilities are and try to find a way to interest the child in what may be their life work. If this means an advanced math class, a auto mechanic class, a nursing/care giving class, or a college prep class, then so be it and lets further develop and fine tune what ever abilities they have.

After high school we then help the child through additional education to excel in what has been found to be their ability. Be it a doctor, laborer, a skilled mechanic, etc. Lets don't push "college" as we know it not but push "college" that may be advanced basic nursing care, advanced auto mechanics, advanced electronics, etc. Now everyone has a chance to go to "college" but it is not "college" as we know it now. It is the development of their particular skills in whatever time in school that it takes. Some may be a couple of years, some may be an additional 15 years.

We do this to a certain extent now but simply some children do not have the ability or do they want to go to college as we know it now. They can not see themselves in that type of an elitist school.

Of course you and I both know that the above could never be accepted in our present society and that the schools will not change because the educational society do not want to change. But we can all dream and hope.
